A Pediatric Cardiologist from University of Cape Town with the intent to build a comprehensive and holistic pediatric cardiac service. The objective is to be delivering accessible, affordable, safe and sustainable care to all irrespective of their individual socio-economic circumstances.

Gida Nakazibwe-Sekandi

Deputy Chairperson

Ms. Gida Nakazibwe Sekandi, APR is a lawyer by profession and holds an LLB Degree from Makerere University (1976), Kampala Uganda and a Post graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (1977) from the Law Development Centre. She is an accredited Public Relations Practitioner. Gida joined the Rössing Uranium Group in 1987 and served in various roles, amongst others as Public Relations Officer, Head of Communication and Industrial Relations and as Head of Corporate Affairs and Communication until July 2000.

She joined Bank Windhoek in 2000 and held the position of Executive Marketing and Corporate Communication until November 2004 when she joined Capricorn Investment Holdings (CIH) and served, amongst others, as Executive Director Group Professional Services, a position she held until her retirement from the company in December 2015.

Gida is serving on the boards of Bank Windhoek, Capricorn Investment Holdings (CIH), Allegrow Fund, ANIREP and various other board committees.

Dr Oliver Stumper

Trustee

Born and educated in Bonn, Germany. Dr Stumper is an author of 140+ peer reviewed articles, editorials and book chapters. Two textbooks on congenital heart disease. Committed to teaching and training in paediatric cardiology and interventional cardiology internationally, in particular in emerging countries. Close working relationship with Windhoek General Hospital since 2018. Ambition to support the team in Windhoek to grow a service for congenital heart disease at international level through training, teaching and mentoring.

-Study of Medicine, University Bonn, 1981 – 1987.
-MD 1988. -Erasmus scholarship in Rotterdam 1988-1990.
-PhD in transoesophageal ultrasound 1991.
-Training in paediatric cardiology in Rotterdam, Edinburgh and Birmingham.
-Senior interventional cardiology fellowship in Paris 1995/96.
-Consultant paediatric and interventional cardiologist at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, UK from Oct 1996.
-Lead consultant and director of interventional cardiology from 2011.

Nelago Embula

Trustee - Fundraising & Marketing

Ms embula is Namibia’s first Clinical Cardiovascular perfusionist who trained at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic hospital and qualified with a cum laude in pediatric perfusion. A cardiovascular perfusionist is an essential team member that helps facilitates open heart surgery by taking over the function of the heart and lungs using a cardiopulmonary bypass machine amongst many other machines during open heart surgery. Ms embula Embula possess a Bachelors degree in cardiovascular perfusion Cum laude (tswhane university of technology),Postgraduate Honours in Business Management (NUST) , Certificate in global health project management (university of Washington) cum laude and is currently studying towards postgraduate diploma in Public health (University of Pretoria).

As a trustee she is responsible for Marketing and fundraising committee as well as offering her services as a clinical cardiovascular perfusionist.
